Southeast Weed & Seed Goals:
• Reduce youth & adult involvement in substance abuse, illegal gang activity & drug related crime
• Reduce truancy at targeted schools
• Reduce youth involvement in the justice system

The current Southeast Seattle Weed & Seed site was awarded official recognition status in July 2003. “Weeding” and “seeding” updates and the coordination of other Weed & Seed activities takes place at monthly meetings of the South Rainier Valley Community Safety Meeting, the Rainier Beach Merchants Association, and the SE Youth Provider Partnership. One of the primary goals of Southeast Weed & Seed is to reduce violent crime and nuisance activity at “hotspot” areas jointly identified by the community and police.
