How do you call 9-1-1 if you don't speak English?
Seattle is home to many immigrants from many language groups. One of the most important things we do here at Seattle Neighborhood Group is help people learn how to be safe in their everyday lives, and a big part of that can be learning how to use the 9-1-1 system in an emergency. Bringing safety together with all the people here who have limited English is an ongoing effort, and we are proud to participate in this big project.
In collaboration with the Seattle Police Department we have developed a short, two sided brochure helping people learn about the 9-1-1 system, and how to use 9-1-1 if their home language is not English.
