Penny HarvestThank you Orca K-8 Penny Harvest for choosing SNG as your Grant Recipient!

We recently were awarded Orca K-8 School's Penny Harvest grant! Penny Harvest is a service-learning youth philanthropy program where youth between the ages of 4 and 18 convert their natural passion for others into action by collecting pennies and turning them into grants for community organizations. They studied community needs and organizations and chose to donate to us! Thanks Orca K-8!

East Precinct Crime Prevention Coalition

Mission:

“The East Precinct Crime Prevention Coalition (EPCPC) is an incorporated non-profit community organization which strives to promote partnerships among residents, schools, businesses/ merchants, the Seattle Police Department, social service and government agencies to effectively address public safety issues. ”

Meet the leadership of EPCPC

The East Precinct Crime Prevention Coalition is a group of community members from all over the East Precinct that was established in 1989 to promote safe, livable neighborhoods. Members of the group are simply the people who attend the meetings, it is a public meeting, open to everyone. The EPCPC holds monthly community meetings that bring community members together with each other, Seattle Police command staff, and City Attorney Liaison staff to develop and implement strategies that address neighborhood crime and safety problems.

At the EPCPC meetings, all community members have an opportunity to talk about their safety concerns with other neighbors as well as the command staff of the East Precinct. EPCPC meetings are a great place to connect with other people who are working on similar issues, and to learn about strategies that others use. The meetings are a valuable way to meet your local police, and find out about services that can address some kinds of crime prevention issues that you may not know about. If you are curious, here is a typical EPCPC agenda that you can download.

If you would like to attend EPCPC meetings, contact us and request to be included in the meeting notification mailing list. You will receive information about the dates of upcoming EPCPC meetings, their location, times, and topics. You will also receive the notes from the previous month's meeting.

The EPCPC supports the Alcohol Impact Area in Central Seattle, and neighbors help the City Attorney Liaison at the East Precinct by doing periodic community cleanups, and tracking the amount of alcohol related trash left in neighborhoods, using AIA trash logs.
