Get Off the Streets
(GOTS) is a partnership with the Seattle
Police Department and POCAAN (People
of Color Against Aids Network). Our
goal is lowering crime in the Central
Area by providing services to people
involved in non-violent street crime
who are drug or alcohol dependent
and homeless.
93 individuals received
services including housing, treatment,
grocery vouchers and case management.
Bookings into jail
were dramatically decreased while
clients were receiving services.
The East Precinct
GOTS (Get Off the Streets) project
received funding for a pilot project
for the 2000 Block of East Madison
in June.
The vision is to
reduce crime by providing services
to those creating low-level crime
problems in the neighborhood. View

Drop-in visitors
were referred to numerous services,
including treatment, dental care,
health care, employment, etc.
At the end of 2006,
41 clients had been placed in housing
and 43 assessed for chemical dependency
treatment. 26 entered treatment.
