Drug, gang and violent crimes,
especially those involving youth.
Goal:
Reduce drug, gang and violent
crimes in the Central W&S
area, including Jefferson Terrace,
Yesler Terrace and selected
scattered federally assisted
public housing complexes.
Objective
1: Identify and arrest
individuals involved in dealing
narcotics and violent crimes
in the Central W&S area.
Objective
2: Increase police presence
to reduce crime trends, including
ride-a-longs with DOC.
Community
Policing:

Reduction in drug and violent
crimes in the Central W&S

engage in activities that get
police out of their cars (i.e.
bike and foot patrol).

in activities that build relationships
with youth and address truancy.

participate in community meetings
and problem solving efforts
to address long-term crime and
nuisance issues. Follow-up on
police action items and report
back to community. Coordinate
involvement of additional police
